Fulbright-Hays Seminars Abroad Program

Travel Dates: Summer 2025
Application Deadline: January 7, 2025

The Fulbright-Hays Seminars Abroad Program, funded through the US Department of Education, offers four-week international summer programs for US educators in the social sciences, arts, and humanities to improve their understanding and knowledge of the peoples and cultures of other countries. All programs include lectures and educational activities; visits to local schools and organizations; meetings with educators and students; and visits to cultural sites. Participants draw on their experiences to create new cross-cultural curricula for their schools back in the US. The summer programs to be offered in 2025 for K-12 educators are to Uruguay and Peru for K-8 educators (“Culture, Language, and Inclusion: Investigating Education in Uruguay and Peru”) and to India for 9-12 educators (“Exploring India’s Cultural Heritage and Traditions”). A third program to Greece and Türkiye is available to postsecondary educators. The program is open to teachers, administrators, librarians, media and curriculum specialists. It covers airfare, lodging, and program costs; participants pay a $750 cost share. Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents with at least 3 years of full-time experience in their field.
