Girl Security is preparing girls, women, and gender minorities for careers in national security through equity-informed learning, college-to-career training, and mentoring. This essay contest, in partnership with Texas National Security Review, is a call to action to amplify women’s voices in security.
The year’s essay prompt is: Personal and social identity can be defined in many ways: race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender, religious/faith beliefs, neurodiversity, involvement in school or community groups/organizations, familial relationships, educational background, and more. How has identity shaped and affected global policy and international security? How do you believe identity should inform global policy and international security moving forward?
