The Keizai Koho Center (KKC), in cooperation with the National Association of Japan-America Societies (NAJAS), invites applications from US and Canadian social studies teachers for this fully funded, summer study program in Japan. The itinerary is mainly focused on Tokyo, and includes visits to Japanese schools to interact with students and teachers; meetings with scholars and experts on Japanese society and its education system; visits to major Japanese companies and meetings with senior company executives; a home stay with a Japanese family; and cultural and fun events. To be eligible, applicants must be middle or high school social studies, economics, geography, or history teachers. Only applicants who have never lived in Japan or participated in a similar study tour will be considered. Fellowship recipients are required to develop a curricular project, submit their lesson plan and final report to KKC, and to disseminate information about the visit within their local schools and communities.
