LearnServe International offers after-school entrepreneurship training, in-school social entrepreneurship courses, and summer international service programs designed to prepare students to be social entrepreneurs and global citizens. LearnServe is now accepting applications for its 2017 summer programs in Jamaica, Paraguay, and Zambia. The program is open to area high school students in public, charter, and independent schools. Travel programs are 3 weeks in length, taking place in late June to early July, with a schedule of mandatory meetings scheduled from February through October. These are fee-based programs, but scholarships are available, and all students participate in fundraising. Students create and implement action plans after they return to DC.
