Application Deadline: April 1, 2024
Through the NEA Global Learning Fellowship, public school educators develop the knowledge and skills to integrate global competency into their daily classroom instruction, advocate for global competency within their schools and districts, and help students thrive in our increasingly interconnected world. Fellows transform their classrooms to give students a global perspective.
This fully funded 12-month professional development program includes participation in monthly webinars with accompanying readings and reflections, a two-day professional workshop, and a 10-day international field experience, designed in partnership with EF Educational Tours. Fellows are required to complete capstone projects to apply what they have learned through the fellowship in their classrooms. The entire professional development experience represents approximately 160 hours of work, which may potentially be used to satisfy state or district requirements. Applicants must be active NEA members who are current K-12 classroom teachers, with three or more years of teaching experience.
