Partners of the Americas is seeking 15-17 year old students from DC and elsewhere who are interested in learning more about South America, practicing Spanish, becoming better leaders, engaging in volunteer service, and connecting with youth from different ethnic, religious, and national groups. This free four-week summer program will take place in Washington, DC and Colombia. In Colombia, students will explore Colombian history, environment and culture; meet with government and civic organizations; build relationships with host families; visit schools; and participate in skills-based workshops. Applicants must be US citizens, have good academic standing, and an ability to communicate effectively in Spanish. Graduating seniors are not eligible to apply. The program is funded by the US State Department.
