US Youth Ambassadors Program

Program Dates: Summer 2025
Application Deadline: November 11, 2024

The US Youth Ambassadors Program is a leadership exchange program for US teens ages 15-17 and adult educators, sponsored by the US State Department and administered by World Learning. The program provides full scholarships for 98 students and educators to take part in one of six exchange programs to countries in Central and South America, and the Caribbean. Though subject to change, summer 2025 program destinations are to Argentina, Belize, Brazil, Costa Rica, and Ecuador. Program themes include interculturalism, global citizenship, youth leadership, environmental stewardship, entrepreneurship, and civic activism. Youth Ambassadors aims to develop a cadre of young adults throughout the Americas who have a strong sense of civic responsibility, a commitment to their communities, an awareness of current and global issues, strong interpersonal leadership skills, and mutual understanding. World Learning is also recruiting adult educators for these exchanges to help guide the student participants. Intermediate level Spanish is required for all exchanges, except to Belize or Brazil. Both students and educators must be US citizens to be eligible to apply.
